Command Ops is going to exotic places... like Saipan.
A sneak peek into an exciting project covering a subject matter rarely found in wargaming.
[{Tojo's Heel}]
Hidecki Tojo declared that Japan held an “Absolute Imperial Defense Line” in December 1943. From the Kuriles through the Marianas, New Guinea, Dutch East Indies to Burma, Tojo’s declaration meant “Defend it at all costs in the name of the beloved Emperor, Hirohito.”

Saipan sat at the center point of a 1500-mile arc covering the home islands of Japan. Capture of the island not only would pierce Tojo’s line of defenses but also support a base for the B-29 Bomber, which could easily traverse a 3,000 mile round trip bombing run against any of Japan’s major production centers.
Can the Allies take Saipan?
Can the Japanese thwart another assault in the Pacific?
[{About the project}]
Tim Williams and Jim Carravallah have been working for several months now mapping Saipan, the scenario of one of the major campaigns fought by the US Marine Corps in the Pacific. Check out the official site of this community project for Command Ops to find out more details about this awesome project.
